| CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF STONES (CDOS) |
| The Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS) was set up as an autonomous organisation by Government of Rajasthan and Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) with a mission to develop, promote & support the dimensional stone sector and related industries in India. It has been conceived as a centre of excellence to act as a reference point for the entire dimensional stone industry and to serve as a catalyst for synergetic relationship between its various segments. It is the only organisation of its kind covering the entire gamut of the dimensional stone sector. A large number of members of trade & industry are active members of CDOS.
CDOS was registered as a non-profit making society on 30th June, 1998. CDOS complex with state-of- the-art facilities is coming up at Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan province of India.
Broad Initiatives |
- India STONEMART, International Stone Industry Exhibition & Conference; the first edition of which was organised in February 2000; second edition was organised in January - February 2003 and the third edition on January , February 2005
- Collection, Analysis and Dissemination of Information on stone & allied industry through its Technology &Trade Information Centre
- Creation of a portal on Indian Stones at the URL www.stonesofindia.org & www.cdos-india.com
- Short Term training courses and seminars
- Setting up of a Testing Centre for stones as per International Standards. The Testing Centre is coming up at Jaipur.
- Trade Promotion Centre for Export Consultancy, Buyer-Seller meets, International Conferences, Workshops etc.
- Policy formulation & follow-up at the national and international level.
