Retrospect of Stonemart 2000

The February of Year 2000 had witnessed the first international stone industry exhibition in North India with India Stonemart 2000 being organised during February 2 to February 6, 2000. It changed the landscape of the Rajasthan stone industry forever. The event was such a resounding success that the event was followed by a flurry of activities in the Indian marble industry, with exports surging forward by more than 35 % in a single year and sandstone export share eating substantially into the export pie of world trade. Several hitherto unknown stones were introduced into the world market and new product lines were launched. Total Business/ Enquiries Generated during Stonemart 2000 was US$ 33 Million (Rs.135 crore).
